The Slipping Problem of the Belt Conveyor

The belt conveyor, as a conveying machine, has been widely used in the coal, grain and flour industries etc. It could convey both the bulk material and the bagged material. Many users may be confused about the problems during operation and their solutions. So here we take a common problem for example: the slipping of the belt and the solutions:

1. The initial tension is too small. The insufficient tension that the belt departs from the cylinder makes the slipping of the belt. This situation is common seen at the machine starting period, the solution of which is to regulate the tension device and enlarge the initial tension.

2. The insufficient resistance between the transmission drum and the belt leads to the slipping, too. The main reason is that there is water on the belt or the environment around is moist. The solution is to add some rosin powder on the cylinder, but pay attention not to add them with your hands but with the blast apparatus, in order to avoid the accident.

3. The rear roller bearing or the top and bottom roller bearing stops running because of wearing. The cause of the damage should go to the untimely repair or replacement of the broken parts, making the resistance force even larger and lead to belt slipping.

4. The starting speed is too fast at the beginning, and you could start the machine slowly.

5. The belt is overloaded which surpasses the capacity of the electricity rotor. The slipping at this time is beneficial for the motor, because if the overloading continues for a long time, the motor will be burned out. While it is a problem in the view of operation.

So, in order to overcome the slipping problem, you should find the reason first and bring out the solutions accordingly.
